By Election in Loughborough East

We are delighted to announce that councillor for Loughborough East, Louise Jones, has been selected to run as a Parliamentary candidate for the seat of North East Derbyshire. Sadly for us, this means that Louise has had to resign from her position as councillor in order to concentrate on her campaign which has triggered a by-election for Loughborough East.

The by election will take place on Thursday 2nd May, on the same day as the Police & Crime Commissioner election. We are really lucky to have an excellent candidate already lined up to contest the seat in Louise Taylor-Durant.

Louise lives in the ward, and is actively involved in the Constituency Labour Party. She is passionate about making a positive contribution to the area, and she will make a great councillor for Loughborough East if elected.
